**VACANCY** - Saturday Salesperson required

- Wanted! We have a vacancy for a Saturday salesperson, working 10am - 2pm initially, with the possibility of increasing the hours to 4pm. Applicants must have an aptitude for retail and be computer literate with good physical fitness as lifting and carrying furniture is part of the job. Preference will be given to those who have previously worked or volunteered in the charity sector. Salary £25 per session initially with pro rata increase as the hours increase.

We are now live with our new computer system

- All of our stock was bar code labelled before our Christmas break for use with our new computer system, which is now being used live (as of 3rd Jan 2012).  When the normal teething troubles have been sorted out we will then be in a position to start taking photos of our stock.  These will automatically be uploaded in real-time to our website, allowing anyone to see our stock via the web and to also reserve / request stock on-line.

SECURITY CAMERAS

- Following our recent burglary, we have reviewed our security procedures with the local police and have now installed new security equipment - The new IP cameras have motion detection with immediate off-site secure storage of images taken.

360 DEGREE IMAGE (UPDATED LATE 2011)

- We have now added a 360 degree rotatable image of our Showroom (No. 48 Holmethorpe Ave).  This shows you an internal view of the showroom on 15th Oct - Also on this page (Our Location) there is a 360 view of our Warehouse, updated 18th Oct.

SATURDAY OPENING TIMES

- We are open Saturdays 10-2pm - Please refer to the 'OUR LOCATION' page from the menu bar above for regular updates (updated 01/02/2012).  We will be open for Non-Discounted Sales and Donations, unfortunately we will not be doing Assessments on Saturdays, however you can fill in our on-line Assessment form anytime - Please feel free to pop in and browse.

WE NEED YOUR HELP - YOU GET EXPERIENCE FOR YOUR

DofE - Furnistore would like to recruit some volunteers who need experience for their DofE - Charity DofE Award experience in Surrey -  this experience would also look good on your CV or UCAS application - See our vacancies page or DofE vacancies page.

HYGIENE PACKS

- Are given free, by Furnistore, to those in most need.
Catriona one of our regular donators organised her husband Andrew's recent 50th birthday Party where guests were asked instead of a present to make up a "hygiene" pack for Furnistore. Guests came to Brooklands Museum armed with carrier bags full of towels, toothbrushes, shampoo etc. 46 packs were made up in total  - Many thanks to all for their very generous gift - especially to Catriona and Andrew. Payments

- We now accept payments by debit and credit cards (only VISA, MASTERCARD and Maestro).  As we are a charity, we do need to make a charge for using this payment method:-
  • Credit cards: £1 charge.
  • Debit cards: 50p charge.

We do still also accept cash or cheques (but will need to allow clearing time).

SURREY REUSE NETWORK

- On 14th Feb 2011, SRN was launched, which is affiliated to FRN (Furniture Reuse Network). This is a network of the six furniture reuse projects in Surrey - helping those on low incomes and the environment, collectively working together reducing landfill by giving unwanted items of furniture a new lease of life at significantly reduced cost to the general public.
